Yachana's Rafting Tour

Our rafting tour is a great trip for both beginners and experts alike. You'll enjoy the thrill of exciting rapids along with calm waters and breathtaking jungle scenery. Your excursion includes a delicious picnic lunch on a beautiful, expansive beach.

The itinerary:

Day 1

After breakfast we will leave Yachana and take a canoe downriver 5 minutes to the community of Agua Santa.  Here we will take a private bus/van to Huasquila Amazon Lodge. Along the way we drive through the core zone of the Sumaco National Park, very famous and well known by birdwatchers.  We can make one stop to try our luck at spotting exotic birds.  Upon arrival to Huasquila, we will first enjoy a welcome cocktail with Cecilia, the lodge operations manager.

After lunch we will visit the Jumandy Caves where we will be able to see stalagmites and stalactites that have formed over time and will also have the opportunity to discover the legend of the Jumandy Indian Warrior. While exploring the caves we can observe some baths and will also have to swim through a small pond. Drive back to Huasquila and dinner.

Day 2

Early breakfast at 7:30 AM before we leave for the town of Tena where we will meet our rafting crew. After a safety briefing we'll prepare a little before we go to the actual place where we will begin our 23 km rafting tour. This tour starts at the Llanganates National Park and ends at the Napo River, the largest tributary to the Amazon River. In the first two hours we will learn how to paddle, work in a group and have lots of fun. Then we will take a lunch break on the shore of the river on a sandy beach and relax a little. After this we continue our rafting adventure towards the Napo and end the tour here. This rafting adventure provides the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Amazon jungle through its rivers. Drive back to Huasquila and dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast and drive back to Quito with possible short stops along the way.

Rate: $360 per person

The tour package includes:

• Transfers from Yachana to Huasquila and from Huasquila to Quito
• Welcome cocktail
• Accommodation based on double and/or triple occupancy
• All meals and snacks during activities
• All activities including rafting
• English speaking native guide during activities
• Transport to activities when needed
• Rubber boots up to size 44
