Many travelers are looking for a more meaningful and in-depth travel experience and Yachana's Slow Travel Program can provide exactly that. Your guides will be the indigenous and mestizo students of Yachana High School who will provide an insight into how people really live in the rainforest. Activities will be tailored to your interests - come and help in our fabulous botanical gardens or in our Butterfly House. Spend time on hikes in the forest. Participate in farm activities with the students of Yachana High School - learn to so and reap rice or corn or look after the animals. Accompany our students transplanting seedlings in our tree nursery. Many of the Yachana High School students speak reasonable English and would love the chance to practice with you. If you have the time, choose slow travel and stay with the Yachana family - Yachana Lodge and Yachana High School - for a couple of weeks or more and you will find this to be an utterly rewarding experience.
