In order to continue all our valuable work here in the Amazon rainforest we are always in need of donations. 100% of donated money goes to the Yachana Foundation and therefore 100% of donations go to our highly important educational project for the youth of the Amazon which is the Yachana High School. Donated money is immensely necessary for our day-to-day running of our school in terms of teaching staff, teaching resources and for food the school are not able to supply for themselves. We struggle to raise enough to cover the needs of the school and therefore the needs of the wonderful young people that we work with every single day of the year.
We are also looking for sponsors for these Yachana High School students who are learning to be the future leaders of their communities and learning how to conserve the fragile environment that is the Amazon and which they call home. Our students come from the poorest families and many have to travel great distances to stay at our school. For just $1200 you can fully support a student 's learning and living for a year. A Yachana membership is an easy way for you to actively support rainforest conservation and to improve the standard of living of its people. During the past 15 years, our supporters have helped us to purchase and protect over 4,300 acres of tropical rainforest, establish the Mondaña Medical Clinic, construct the Yachana Technical High School and offer sustainable cacao production training to local communities to help create viable economic alternatives to logging, cattle ranching and the production of illicit crops.
Depending on the level of membership, Yachana members receive either all or some of the following:- A transferable 10-15% discount for two people to stay at our award-winning Yachana Lodge (valid for up to one year); and a free one day gastronomy tour.
